Meteorite Loan Boxes
Students in Wales can now learn more about meteorites, impacts and rocks on the Earth, Moon and Mars using real specimens.
Schools can borrow the handling sets of meteorites, rocks from Earth, Moon and Mars and dinosaur fossils from the Amgueddfa Cymru – National Museum of Wales Outreach Collection. Each set is accompanied by lesson plans linked to the science curriculum.
This is a joint project between Amgueddfa Cymru-National Museum Wales and the Faulkes Telescope Project at Cardiff University and is kindly funded by the Science and Technology Facilities Council.
Box 1 - Meteorites
By handling real meteorites and investigating dramatic events like the extinction of the dinosaurs, children will understand how exciting science and maths can be.
